Two men shot and killed in a drive-by shooting were identified by the coroner’s office Tuesday as 24-year-old Gabriel Castillo and 27- year-old Carlos Regalado Jr., both of Wilmington.
The shooting near the intersection of Watson Road and East Pacific Coast Highway in Wilmington was reported at 9:12 p.m. Monday, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Karen Rayner said.
“Three people were walking down the street when they were shot by someone in a car,” Rayner said. “Two people died at the scene and paramedics transported a third person to the hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.”
The surviving victim was last reported in stable condition, said Sgt. Richard Gabaldon, watch commander at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Harbor Station.
“The suspects in the shooting were described as two young male Hispanics, driving a white, four-door, compact sport utility-type vehicle,” Gabaldon said. “But that’s all we have so far.”
Police were investigating the shooting as gang-related, Gabaldon said.
