Samuel Michel, a 25-year-old white man, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in the 800 block of Serrano Street in Koreatown, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Police were called to the Villa Sir Francis Drake apartments about 2:40 a.m., where they found Michel with a knife in his back and stab wounds to his head.
Michel, who was neither conscious nor breathing and was inside a fifth-floor apartment.
A Los Angeles Fire Department ambulance crew pronounced him dead.
Witnesses reported seeing another man in a white tank top leaving the area on a bicycle.
